Dear Ms. English and Class,

I am still reading the Uglies and it is a good book! When I was telling you about the book Tally was on her way to The Smoke. Now Tally had made it to the Smoke. On her way to the Smoke she almost got burned! When she arrived at The Smoke Shay her friend was so happy she came! Tally was sick of spag bol so she told Croy you can have it all, then Shay said it is to good to trade everyone wants it here but does not have enough. When the people were eating dinner around the camp fire Tally told her story, but she lied about she exaggerated too much. Later, on Croy suspected something was going on about her pendent. (The pendent was given earlier in the book to call the Special Currcumstances to come arrest all the runaways.) Tally was not sure she wanted to though she is getting to close to The Smoke. When David (a guy who Shay likes) wanted to tell Tally a secret, Tally wanted to say you can't trust me, but she couldn't get the words out. The secret that David told her was that he was not just a runaway his parents used to be doctors but took David and ran away. (Keep reading the blog and I will tell you why they all decided to run away.) David really trusted Tally. When they got back to the campground Shay said "Something is fishy about you coming here and I want you to stay away from my boyfriend David. (David is really not her boyfriend Shay just likes him alot.) The next day David wanted Tally to go and meet his parents, Az and Maddy to tell her why she ran away. (my question is Why can't David just tell Tally?) The told Tally that some people died when they got the operation due to lesions. When they got back to the bunkhouse Tally fell asleep the next morning Tally woke up to fire and the hovercars and the Special Currcumstances outside. She got captured, when they took her to the rabbit pen where other uglies were clustered together Croy believed her that this was not her fault at all. When a Special arrived to the pen with Shay she was SO mad at Tally. Shay tinks this is all her fault first she stole her boyfriends and now this! When the Specials were checking there eyes they took Tally with them to the libary were Dr. Cable awaits for her.

Crispin: The Cross of Lead

The book I just finished reading is a really really really really really really really good book(with six million reallys). It is called....Crispin The Cross of Lead!

This book is a REALLY good book. (I just told you that. ) It is by an author named Avi (which real name is Edward Irving Mortis) which is an AWESOME author. This book won a newberry honor medal! That's how good it is! And you can get it in the book fair for FIVE DOLLARS! For a hardcover book! (I know I'm starting to sound like an advertiser, but this book is really really good! ) Any ways, this book is about a boy that is 13 years old. His mom just died. (his dad was dead already) (it's in the 1300s or something. ) He was accused of a crime he didn't commit. He is really poor. He doesn't have a name. Everyone calls him "Asta's Son" because his mother's name was Asta. Soooo... he has been declared a wolf's head (which is when he is declared not human anymore) so anyone can kill him, when ever they want to. If they kill him they get like 100000000 dollars as a reward. So they are anxious to kill him. And also, Father Quinel (a priest) told him that his real name was Crispin. And his mother left him a cross of lead with writing on it, but he can't read. I'm not going to tell you any more (the end is really exciting), so you have to read it yourself!

How come the author goes by a pen name?

Why do they call it a "wolf's head" ?

Did they even have cheese at that time?

I like this book. (obviously, that's an opinion)

At the end, this book makes me think of someone finding out something they don't want to hear. (that's a hint of what happens at the end)

I can imagine how Crispin felt when he found out what it really said on the cross of lead: surprised and shocked.

I don't think it's fair that in that time, some people are so rich and some people are so poor.

I think that if there was another book, it would tell of Crispin going back to the place he was born.

FOOTBALL HERO

Dear class,

The book I am reading is Football Hero by Tim Green. The book is about a boy named Ty and he lives with his Aunt and Uncle. When he was getting on the bus to get home from school the coach asks him to go to the spring practice for football. He goes and is the fastest there. When he gets home he gets a job from his Dad's cleaning company. Ty goes to his first job and he hates it he has to clean ALL this disgusting stuff in the bathrooms! When he is taking a break his big brother Thane (a.k.a Tiger) calls. Tiger is a really good receiver for the Syracuse University. Tiger asks if Ty wants to come to the NFL draft with him Ty would love too. A couple days later Ty goes to the spring football scrimmage for his school. He catches a 50 yard TD pass! He was really happy. When he gets home he gets ready for Tiger to come and get him!!! When Tiger comes, Ty gets into the huge limo and drives to New York City. They go to a restaurant where they meet Tigers agent. They had a nice, fancy dinner. When Ty and Tiger get to their hotel, Ty gets into the hot tub and relaxes. He goes to bed and when he wakes up he has to get ready for the draft. When they get there, Tiger signs a lot of autographs then they go into the building where there is SO many football fans. When they announce the third pick of the first round from the NY Jets the pick was... Tiger!!!! Everybody was cheering. When Ty gets home he gives his cousin the ipod Ty got when he was there. A few days later the family goes to dinner to see Tiger sign the 7.5 million dollor contract! That is how for I am so far.

I wonder why Ty's Uncle is always so mean to Ty and why he likes to get drunk a lot? I think Ty should live with Tiger because they get a long VERY well. I think Uncle Gus and Tiger will get in a fight about who will keep Ty.

The Seer of Shadows

I have finished The Seer of Shadows, another awesome book by Avi. It is about Horace Carpetine who is the apprentice to Enoch Middleditch, a photographer. When Mrs. Frederick Von Macht, a very wealthy lady, orders a photo, strange things happen. Mrs. Von Macht's daughter, Eleanora, supposedly died last spring from scarlet fever. Horace's first photographs show a freaky image. It has the face of Eleanora. Pegg, Eleanora's best friend and the Von Machts' servant, tells Horace the horrifying truth. Pegg and Horace realize Horace's pictures are bringing Eleanora's ghost to life. Eleanora returns, intent on getting a horrible revenge.



My first question was, why would the Von Machts torture her if she was supposedly their daughter? Apparently, Eleanora was their rich niece and they hoped to steal her fortune. But if the Von Machts were kind and loving people, maybe Eleanora would've shared her money. You see, because they were so neglectful to her and Pegg, she refused to sign the papers that transferred her money to theirs.



I felt really bad for Pegg because before Eleanora got adopted by them, Pegg was Eleanora's adopted sister. Eleanora's mother treated them both equally, very kindly. But after she died, the Von Machts adopted her, trying to steal her money. The Von Machts were very cruel to Pegg and Eleanora. That is how Eleanora died. The Von Machts kepted her weak and kepted her in one of the servants' rooms. She became sick and the Von Machts refused to get a docter for her so she died. Now she is a ghost who is trying to get revenge on the Von Machts.



Also, how did Horace's pictures bring Eleanora's ghost to life? All he did was take pictures of her pictures and somehow, every picture of her got clearer and clearer. When Mr. Middleditch took pictures. nothing happened, he just got a pciture of the person he was photographing. Pegg said it was because Horace was a "seer". "Seers" are wise people that see things no one else sees. But Pegg could see Eleanora's ghost too. So does that mean that she is a seer too?

The Everything Buddhism Book

Right now i am Reading the every thing Buddhist book which is a book a guy wrote about his life as a Buddhist monk.

The author started out in a atheist,religious family and soon was ready to chose his own fate, Buddhism! He learned about alot of the real meanings of things. Like karma (actually) means action! If you kill a guy you wont get hit by a car but guilt might make jump off a cliff if you cannot confess, not that i know the guilt of murder heh heh heh...

This book has really helped me concentrate and find out how to use Buddhist meditation to comfort myself and know the secrets of peace, love, war, and hate, it also helps prevent my mind from wandering and is really soothing!

One more thing it makes me feel: Nirvana, total realization of the world as it is, between life and death that shall go to reach full monk-ey-ness like nirvana is heaven on earth and death and it literally is like: we have no soul our enlightenment comes from others and ourselves we are here not for a purpose but for a reason, we are the dominant creatures and we shall not abuse our powers!

Dear fellow classmates,

I am still reading the book ZooBreak by Gordon Korman. So far as like last time they are now on the boat where savannahs monkey Cleos on. Right now the gang is distracting the guard at the All aboard animals boat where savannahs pet monkey Cleo is until Logan (really good actor) got all wet for the destraction that really wasnt suppose to happen but was a good idea for it.

I finished a book called my life in pink and green. It is very good. Its about a girl who is trying to make her pharmacy go green.The business is getting bad so she trying to find a way to go green and help the business. She comes up with a relaxation room. Then a Eco-spa. She gives girls make overs too.

One-Eyed Cat is about a boy who accidentally shoot a cat's eye out while secretly using a gun he got for his birthday. Filled with guilt, he finally confesses to his mother at the end of the book. Written by Paula Fox, it has even won a Newbery Honor. This book is great for kids who tend to lie or kids who like nature and friendship. Not too long, not too short, One-Eyed Cat is purr-fect for everyone!

I have been reading book cell the dog who thought he was santa and this is good book becasue it all about chrismas. and this book is about there boy named Don and he is new student and he have new teacher.and he can't wait unit chrismas because last christmas was really not good because his little sister didn't get to see santa and santa his helper. and now for this years he wishing for good chrismas with his family and friends. and his little sister think that santa is real and she say that she want to be santa's helper.And her mom say that santa and his helper are not real.but don he didn't want to see santa he just want to have the best chrismas for this year with his family and friends.

Dear classmates and Ms.English,

Where I am in the book Bella and Edward decide to be boyfriend and girlfriend and Edward wants to introduce Bella to his foster parents ,but Bella is to scared that they will not like her at all. And now Edward wants Bella to tell Charlie about them dating and now school is at the least of her worrys! Its at the least of her worrys because well... Mike has a crush on her and he wants to be her boyfriend and is jeaslous of Edward but Bella has to make sure that Jessica dosen't find out because she is dating Mike, Edward watches her sleep every night and Bella sleep talks out all her secrects, Tyler will not stop say sorry to Bella and wants to make it up to her by taking her to the dance but she doesn't like him and he is telling everyone at school that their going to the dance together!!!!!!!!!(Yikes) One of my Questions was why is Bella to scared to tell Charlie about Edward and her dating?

Shooting The Moon

It is a very good book so far and I really enjoy reading it!:)

The book is about a girl named Jamie and her family is all about the war and when her brother goes off to vietnam to be a medic, she can't help but be jealus of him and when she is so excited about all the letters of the real war herbrother sends her something very unexcepcted. A role of film. Her brother was always into the whole deal of photography but when Jamie gets that she is so suprised that she doesn't know what to do but develop the tape. So she works at the rec center (her father is colonel and she is a volunteer there) she finds out from Private Hollister that there is this strange man who comes to thye rec center and develops film that he gets and apparently he is very good at it. So, Jamie learns how to gat the film developed by the man (his name is Sgt. Byrd) Private Hollister also says that the guy went out to extreme combat and he described it as if you just got there you would most likly get shot once you get off the helocopter. And thats the part im on.

Reaction: My reaction is sad because I would think that Jamie would be sad about her brother going off to war.

Opinion: Same as the reaction I think she should care more, Even though they call the brother a war hero.

Dear Fellow Friends,

I have just finished reading The Tale Of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo.This book is about Depereaux Tilling, a mouse in love with music, stories, and the Princess Pea!!!!This book is also about Roscuro who lives in darkness but covets a world filled with light!!! And it is a story of Miggery Sow,a slow witted serving girl with a simple,and imposible wish!! These charecters are about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into the horrible dungeon,up into the beautiful castle,and into each others life!!!! Desperaux is a very fine and cute mouse. But he was sent to the dungeon after sitting on the Kings foot and after letting the princess touching him!!! " That is the rules of the mouse community so there is a punishment to it"!!!!! said the very honored head mouse.This part is also about the Princess Pea. The Princess Pea wants to keep Despereaux Tilling but the King ( Pea`s Dad) doesn' t let her!!! As the Princess wants Despereaux,slowly Mr. Tilling ( Despereaux) falls in love with the Princess Pea!!! Can you believe that a little mouse falls in love with a Princess?Now let`s go to Roscuro, a rat who likes to eat Despereaux because he is a mouse and rats like to eat mouses!!! Roscuro also wants to go outside to where light is. So that he doesn`t stay in the darkness.

Now lets go to Miggery Sow ,a slow witted girl who has a simple and impossible wish. Her dad sold her to a man for a box of cigarettes and others that we can buy for just 0.50$!!! Isn`t it sad that her dad sold Miggery sow for just a box of cigarettes and others!!!! Would your mom and dad sell you for something for 0.50$ ? Well in my opinion, I would be sad if my mom and dad did that simple trade!!! I have a few Questions... One is that have you ever seen a mouse in love with a princess? Maybe not. I have a connection. I have read a book where a girls dad sold her for money!!!! Well I hope you read this book to find out if Despereaux will get his love, Roscuro will go out to light, and if Miggery Sow will get her dad back! ( I have put all my Queations in my blog.) Hope you like the book!!!

NEW MOON!!

As you all know i have been reading new moon!!

When i last told you about the book i think we were on the airplane so lets get started!

Bella and Alice are on an airplane going to rescue Edward from dying! Edward went to the volturi because Rosalie lied that Bella died so that made Edward want to die! Alice and Bella only have till noon to get to Edward! They get off the plain and Alice goes to steal a car! Alice and Bella hop in the car and drive to the Volturi! the volturi is were Edward is planning to die:( Alice is very mad and worried she is mad at Rosalie for lying to Edward and causing all this mess! Bella is scared and upset because Jacob had told her not to go and she did! She was also scared about how charlie would react because all she had told him was that she was with Alice and would be back in a few days! Bella and Alice got to the volturi! Alice told Bella to go run and try to go catch up with Edward while Alice was putting all their stuff down! Bella ran as fast as she could and made it right on the dot! She had made it! When Edward saw her, joy filled his face! He was very happy but confused at the same time.

WOW!! They met up with Alice and then a vampire came up to Edward and said the volturi has invited you and your girl to go see him! Edward said he would go but Bella would not! The vampire said well if she doesn't come you cant and Edward said well then i guess i am not coming. Aro came out (aro is sorta like a king) and he saw Bella and Edward and told them to come inside! Aro was very happy that Edward had found Bella and that she wasn't dead!! YEAH YIPEE! Aro was very excited because he did not want to kill Edward and know he didnt have to!! But their were still chances that bella and edward and alice wouldnt survive! If i were them i would be frightened! Would you be?

Dear Ms. English and Class,

I am reading the Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. It is fantastic book so far. In this book I am on page 197, I have alot to tell you guys.

First I will tell you what the book is about:

A girl named Tally Youngblood is about to turn 16 and she is REALLY excited, not because she will get her driver license but for turning pretty. In Tally's world when you turn 16 you get an operation that turns you from an ugly into a attractive pretty. When you go to new pretty town your only job is to have fun. In a few weeks Tally will be there.

But Tally meets a new girl Shay who doesn't know if she wants to be pretty or not. When Shay runs away Tally is stuck with the 2 worst choices she can ever think of: Go find her friends Shay and turn her in or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes will shock you and changer her life.

Here is my summary:

Tally was on her way to talk to Peris ( Peris is a guy who is Tally's best friend and already turned pretty) She crossed the river that separates Uglyville and New Pretty Town. Tally decided to put on a pig mask because she thinks it is better to be seen like that than top be seen as an ugly. People start chasing her when she enters the mansion when she reaches the elevator one of the men stepped in and shut the door. It was Peris! Peris said that he will take her to the top floor for her to jump off the building using a parachute. When she was about to cross the river she thought she saw a Warden ( Wardens are pretty much the police) She notices that the Warden is not moving suddenly Tally steps on a twig and says "OK i am so sorry." But then the person she thinks is a Warden turns out to be Shay. Tally and Shay have the same birthday. But Shay is not sure she wants to be pretty, she would rather live life on the outside. Shay said Tally i am going to run away here is a note that only you will understand if you decide you would like to come. When it is Tally's 16th birthday she goes to Dr. Cable who is supposed to give her the operation but then tells Tally that a girl named Shay had ran away. Tally made the choice to go find Shay. Tally was on her way to the Smoke where they are supposed to be living. Then, a helicopter flies overhead and starts a BIG fire to kill the flowers. They notice that someone is done there and they go to get Tally. They give her a new pair of shoes and they leave her closer to smoke. The last clue of Shay's not e had said: stay on the bald head until dawn the next day. The next day Shay came with a group; David, Shay, and Croy. The take her to the Smoke. Tally had noticed that the smoke is REALLY smokey. The have alot of logs. Tally had said " You.. cut down trees?" And Shay said " You will get used to the idea." That is were i left off.

My first question is Why doesn't Shay want to turn pretty and have the operation?

Also, Why do they have to have New Pretty Town and Uglyville, or even a operation?
