They can only travel by night and they use bird calls to get from one place to another. As they get closer to the Ohio River Corey must keep going on this journey alone because his mother must stay until her baby arrives. My name is brain Brian

Hello i have been reading this book called my name is brain Brian

in this book Brian finds out that he has a disease called dyslexia. what dyslexia is,is a learning disability that is most common for happening during reading or writing what doctors have seen is that the people with dyslexia say that "the letters are dancing" my dancing they mean the letters are floating around and they cant read what the word actually says all they see is the letters dancing and they can't make a word out of it.

well any way lets get back to the book!

Brian and his friends are sitting in there secret hide out the day before summer break is over. they all absolutely HATE school but this year Brian wants to try to do his best that he can.

there is one little problem though it is that he doesn't want his friends to think he is a nerd so he doesn't tell them.

Brian and his friends decide that they will put money in a pot each week and they will earn money from the part for each joke they make.so no one knows that Brian has dyslexia so what happens is Brian is spelling his name up on the board when he accidentally spells brain. so that is because the letters are "dancing" in his head. he doesn't realize so he gets confused when everyone is laughing and then he looks and sees what he has done wrong.he didn't mean to that but he just earned some points! so he is excited about that but he was sorta confused about why he wrote that on the board when he didn't even mean to??????????? later this week his teacher ask him if he could have his parents come in to talk about something. he gets worried but then it ends up being about a disability that the teacher thinks Brian might have. his parents agree to get him a tutor and get tested so they know he is properly diagnosed and they have not just made a mistake. they find out that Brian is dyslexic and Brian goes to a tutor every day after school and he is okay with that but he just has to hide it from his friends because again he is afraid they might think he is a nerd or a braniac or something like that when really all Brian is trying to do is to get some help so he doesn't fall anymore behind.then Brian is told that he has to do a project on Canada geese with his enemy Isabella! while he is recording sound on the top of the hideout he sees two of his friends from the club with two other people and it is a rule that you cant go with any other people in less everyone in the hideout agreed. and obviously they all didn't wow i cant believe this is what Brian was thinking.after all the rules we agreed on together they are just breaking the rules?i can't believe them would they really do that? wow i know i never would!!that as you can probably see it shocked Brian a lot.poor Brian he was just trying to keep his dyslexia and wanting to do better in school private.after that Brian didn't think that he trusted those 2 guys with the clubs pot money???????????????
I'm going to leave you hanging. so get the book it is really good it was for a research project but turned out to be one of my favorites.

thank you for reading

The Girl Who Cried Monster!

Dear Readers,

I Have read the book Goosebumps: The Girl Who Cried Monster. In this book there is a girl named Lucy Dark and she is spending her summer vacation annoying her six-year old brother with minor scares and participating in the local library's reading program. It is called 'Reading Rangers' and run by the unpleasent Mr. Mortman (who always has wet hands). He encourages Lucy to read the classics, but she is only interested in monster tales. In a failed attempt to retrieve forgotten rollerblades, Lucy sees Mortman transform into a monster while feeding his pet turtles. Lucy tries to tell her friends and family, but no one believes her because of her monster obsession. She uses the reading club to hide in the library again and witnesses Mortman transform for a second time. She sees him eat a turtle!

Lucy runs to the locked door and realizes the door is locked from the inside. She makes it out of the library again. She runs home and sees her friend Aaron, who she then tries to convince that she saw a monster. He doesn't believe her. She goes into her house and tries to convince Randy about Mr. Mortman, but he too doesn't believe her. Mortman shows up at her house to return a forgotten bookbag and ask if she stayed behind. She lies. Mortman leaves as her mother shows up. Lucy bribes Aaron into spying on Mortman as again, no one believes her. Aaron sees him transform but is unreliable later. Another round of hiding in the library nets Lucy photographic evidence, but Mortman sees her and gives chase. Lucy escapes. Her film ends up showing an empty desk; Mortman seemingly does not resolve on film.

Lucy and Aaron tail Mortman home. She sees him eating several live fish, snails and eels from an aquarium. Aaron does not, as he is looking for a ladder. Lucy is caught but gives a convincing cover story. She is later forced to attend the Reading Rangers meeting. Mortman locks the door and makes her feel threatened. She spills part of a card catalogue, distracting the adult and allowing her to escape. She meets up with Aaron, who had seen Mortman transform and is willing to talk. Lucy's parents, upon hearing the news, invite Mortman for dinner. Halfway through it is revealed that Lucy's family reveal they are monsters. To the cheers of the kids, Mortman is eaten by the parents.

Mary on Her Own

Dear readers,

The book that I'm Reading is called Mary own her own it's about a girl that goes off to a blinds college called Iowa college for the blind. She became blind from scarlet fever because it reached her eyes. In the book she has many trump times that are hard for her like staying at the college for winter and not going home, another time is when she was lost because a student left her in the rain but then the student got sent home. She also had many good times though like meeting all new people and great friends and having a education even though shes blind.

In this book I learned that anyone can go to school and accomplish anything. I think that this book was very great and inspiring. If I was Mary I would defiantly not be as calm as she was during her life when she was blind because without sight you can't do as much and have as much fun in things. This book was very inspiring to me you should read it sometime.

Lord of Misrule

In a College Town, vampires and humans have a relatively bloodless harmony. Until Amelie's Father Bishop Comes to Town. He threatens evil back into the undead and break the peace. But Bishop is not the only threat to the town.

Violent black clouds promise a storm of devastating proportions. As Claire Danvers and her friends Eve, Micheal, and Shane try to defend Morganville against natural and unnatrual. Suddenly, the vampires begin to disappear one by one, Until Claire finds out something that leads her to her final choice: Swear Allegiance to Bishop or Die!

In these books when a vampire goes into the sun they get burned which can make them die depending on how old they are. Officer O'Malley starting just walking out in the sun and Claire tried to stop him but he pushed her out of the way the covered him in a blanket to try to help but he died. I wonder why he would just die like that? Did he want to or did Bishop do something to him? When Eve, Claire, and Hannah arrived at the University Micheal almost walked out into the sun. Micheal is the youngest vampire so he could die immediately. They had to shoot him. (But he is okay) Claire and Eve are wondering why this is happening. Hannah has a cousin who lives in a house very similar to Claire's. It is a founder house. (A founder house is a house owned by Amelie) They went in it to give Lisa (Hannah's cousin) a walkie-talkie, when they walked in the house she has weapons and in the living room chairs with vampires tied to them. Lisa is on the human side, she does not care for vampires one bit. As for Claire and her friends want it to end out in peace between both sides. That is how I would want it to end too. I wonder why Lisa doesn't like vampires? Everybody in the town has a job to do so that everybody is safe, Claire, Eve, and Hannah where sent to hand out the walkie-talkies. Shane is taking care of the bloodmobile and the vampire's appetites. Micheal is supposed to be guarding the university. They are trying to make Bishop leave but not kill him because Bishop is Amelie's dad. I wonder why Bishop wants to destroy his daughters town? That is it for now!

Hope you enjoyed!

Dark Vision

Dear class,

I'm reading Dark Visions by L.J. Smith. There are three books in the trilogy. It is about a psychic named Kaitlyn (Kait). Kait has a reputation of being a witch because when ever she draws something, it comes true. She doesn't just randomly draw them, when she draws the drawings, its not really her drawing it, its her psychic sense. The other reason (I think this is a weird reason) is because of her eyes. They are smokey blue, and at the outside of each iris, and in the middle, were darker rings. People thought they were strange eyes, evil eyes. Eyes that saw what weren't meant to be seen. She accepts an invitation to go to the Zetes Institute, where she can start fresh, with 4 other teens with psychic powers.

The part that I'm at, Kait, Gabriel, Rob, Anna, and Lewis (all kids from the Institute) are in Oregon looking for "a white house at a cliff with a beach". They found out that Mr. Zetes and Joyce (people in charge of the institute) are evil. They are trying to use the psychic powers for something bad.

Some character motivations I noticed:

  • The only reason Kait wanted to go to California to the Zetes Institute is because she thinks that her psychic power is really bad. She thinks that she isn't predicting things with her drawings, she's making them happen. She wants to learn how to control her psychic power and she wants to start fresh. Apparently, they also offered her a lot of money for a scholarship to whatever college she wants when shes done at the Institute.

  • They ran away from the institute because Joyce and Zetes are evil. They are trying to kill the teens. Kait and Rob found files in Joyce's office. They said: KAITLYN BRADY FAIRCHILD PROJECT BLACK LIGHTING and there was one like that for all of them. They found another one that said: SABRINA JESSICA GALLO, BLACK LIGHTNING PILOT STUDY. Then there was the word TERMINATED. Then they found out that Sabrina and the other kids in the pilot study went insane and Zetes is controlling them.

Thats all I have read. Thanks for reading my blog!!!

Hardy boys, The sting of the scorpion

Dear Ms.English and Class,
I am Reading the hardy boys, the sting of the scorpion. The most important charactor is the hardy boys and their dad because they are the ones solving the mysteries. the author helps me get to know the charactor by decribing the way they look and they even include some pictures that help me see what they look like. I learned from the author that someone in the book, Chet, likes to eat when he is nevous, mad, sad, Etc. The charactors in the story get along good because they are all friends except for the bad guys and the hardy boys. In this book the charactors don't have alot of choices when they are in trouble but do judo or run away! When Frank hardy, the older brother, runs away then the younger brother Joe does the same so that he does not get caught by the bad guys or sometimes police men that are just phonies. Sometimes after thwy complete a mystery Frank and Joe become alot more happy because they completed another mystery. Frank and Joes friends are a small role because they only help them on rides and not in the real solving like Chet is.

Uglies

I read Uglies by Scott Westerfield at home and it is a really good book!
Summary: It's something like 500 years in the future. This bacteria thing wiped out most people that live today (called "Rusties"). Tally Youngblood lives at that time in the future. There, normal people are called "ugly" until they turn 16, and they get cosmetic surgery that makes them pretty and bubbleheaded. Tally is younger, than most of her friends, and they all turned pretty already. Tally can't wait.
But now she is all alone because her friends left to go to New Pretty Town because they turned pretty. Tally really wants to talk to her best friend, Peris, so she goes to Pretty town to crash a party.
But when she is there, Peris doesn't really want to talk to her until she's pretty. Then, she grabs a bungee jacket (a jacket that makes you bounce when you hit the ground) and jumps off the roof.
A skinny girl called Shay finds her, and they find out that they share the same birthday. But Shay, unlike Tally, doesn't really want to be pretty.
Shay teaches Tally how to hoverboard, and they become really close friends.
Months Later...
Shay runs away to escape the pretty operation. Tally's pretty sad. Special Circumstances (which are people that fix things) get Tally and make her find Shay and bring her back. They say that either Tally finds Shay, or never turn pretty at all.
Guess what. Tally agrees to find Shay and turn her in. That's how much she wants to be pretty.
So, Tally needs to find Shay. When she finds her she finds out how "fun" it is to be in the New Smoke. So, she forgets that she has to act as a spy and she actually lives there for a while. Tally has a friend, David, that sort of makes her remember that she was supposed to be a spy, so she takes off the heart pendant that the Specials gave her to contact them. David's mom, Maddy, told Tally why she escaped being pretty. Tally finds out that being pretty makes you think you're better than everyone else and makes you bubbleheaded. Then, Maddy's found a cure for prettiness but doesn't want to use it yet. When Tally tries to burn the pendant, it sends a signal to the Specials and they come to get Shay. Shay is really mad, angry, and irritated at Tally. The Specials take Shay away and make her pretty. Maddy wants Shay to try the cure, but Shay doesn't want to, since the surgeons made her bubbleheaded and dumb. So Tally lets herself be experimented on and the book ends with her wanting to be pretty.

The main character is Tally. I think that she is important because she's what the whole story is about; who everyone revolves around. Another character is Shay. She's important to the book because it sorta depends on Shay, because she runs away and Tally has to chase her back. Another main character is David, but he isn't that important. David is important because Tally becomes a good friend of him, and lets her see his mom.
Shay running away affected Tally because Tally had to go find her and bring her back. Tally had a choice to bring Shay back or never be pretty, so Tally actually chose to bring Shay back. So that means that Shay wasn't as important as being pretty to Tally.
At the end of the book, Tally changes because at first she thought the best thing in life was to be pretty, but at the end she realized that friends were more important. The author helps for you to get to know Tally by describing that she had "a large nose" and other things.

My Last Best Friend

Dear Students,

I have been reading "My Last Best Friend" by Julie Bowie. It is about this girl names Ida May, Ida is starting fourth grade, and she never wants to make a new best friend. Her best friend Elizabeth moved away. When a new girl named Stacey comes to the school, Stacey starts to hang out with Jenna Drews, who is very mean to Ida. Jenna Drews calls Ida, I-duh! Stacey likes Ida, and Ida likes Stacey. But as Ida says she does not want a new best friend. Stacey starts lying and saying things like "I have a rich aunt; I have parents that fly over the world!" Ida secretly starts to write notes to Stacey. They become connected as friends. Although Stacey does not know who the secret writer is because she goes by the name "Cordelia."

A powerful character in this story is Ida because she is independent and is always nice, she tries to avoid Jenna.

I learned that Stacey only lies because she wants to be cool, and does not want anyone to know that Stacey lives with her Grandma.

Jenna is the character that has the small important role, if it was not for her there would not be a good story, it would be boring. Jenna always is mean and it makes the book exciting you could say.

Hope you all enjoyed!

Sincerely,

JA!

The battle of the labyrinth

Dear class:

The book im still reading is The battle of the labyrinth. So far in the book, Percy and his friends are still in the labyrinth and found them selfs at a barn which is known as The Triple G Ranch and percy made a bet with a two-headed dog Geryon that he could clean the stable where the fire breathing horses are of his friends would be fed to kronos (percys enemy he must fight in the underworld). While they were at the ranch, percy saw Nico (son of hades who is the god of the underworld) and he's mad at percy for letting his sister Bianca die when it wasnt percys fault.

Some of the actions that percy had was when he was arguing with Geryon and almost got in a fight. No emotions have accured in the book yet but I predict pretty soon Annabeth (percys friend) and percy will have a relation-ship together.

Sincerely,
Mark

Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls: The New Girl

Dear all readers,

Lately I have been reading a book called, "Allie Finkle Rules for Girls." Allie is the new girl at Pine Heights Elementary. Just like me I was the new girl at Mills Park Elementary, but now we are almost done with 5th grade so I guess you can say that I am not a new student anymore. Allie Finkle has 3 friends/classmates ( Caroline, and Sophie, and of course Erica.)

The reason why I picked this book because I moved from a school that I loved and it was hard for me so i decide to read book that had the same experienced I have been through

Questions that I can answer: Are there any powerful characters in the story? Yes there is the main character is Allie and her friends/classmates. What makes the that way? Well first of, Allie is on the front of the book so she is most likely going to be on the main character. Her friends, definitely Erica because she lives right next to Allie. How did the characters int he story feel about one another? Allie and her classmate Rosemary do not get along in the story, Rosemary dose not like Allie and wants to beat her up after school. Allie dose not know what to do I guess you can say that this not going to be a good year at Pine Heights Elementary. The reason I know this is because someone wouldn't just beat you up for know reason. I think that Allie should tell a grown up or some one she trust.
Hey if you are a new girl or boy at a school you will probably understand what Allie Finkel is going through might not be difficult for some one who has experienced it before. So tell me do you think you will ever be able to a school that you love and care for so much like Allie did?

Stargazer

Dear Readers,
I am reading the book called Stargazer, By Claudia Gray. It is the second book to the Ever night novels and is AWESOME!!!!! The main character is named Bianca and her boyfriend Lucas.I am on pg. 113 and I will tell you what has happened so far.
Bianca is a vampire. Lucas (her boyfriend) is a vampire hunter. there is bound to be trouble there isn't it???Anyways, she and him cannot be together so since Bianca is still at
Ever night Academy she cannot be with Lucas because Ever night is a school for Vampires. And so one night Bianca tells her parents she is going to go watch a meteor shower over the weekend and camp out. (She loves Astronomy so her parents would fall for the lie.)SO would her best friend/roommate, Raquel.

I bet you figured out by now where she was headed. She was going to sneak out and go find Lucas because Lucas had come to near Ever night on a hunt. But on the way to meeting up with Lucas, Bianca finds a vampire 14- year-old girl that she soon will find out is someone very important. The girl says that a man is following her and she wanted to act like she had ran into a friend, so she would be safe. So Bianca obviously couldn't refuse to her and told her that she could walk with her until she and Lucas meet up at the train station. But when they get to the train station Bianca confronts the girl and tells her that she wants some privacy when Lucas comes because (I really don't blame her for saying this.) they haven't seen each other in 6 months. The girl says "Of course" but then Lucas comes and things get ugly. The girl is a vampire and Lucas is a vampire hunter soo the girl and Lucas are in danger. But Lucas would never ever hurt Bianca...... Lucas loses and the girl runs off.

But when Lucas drops Bianca back at Evernight, Bianca runs into friend Balthazer and he tells her that the vampire girl was his Sister Charity. From the 1500 when he was changed.WHOA!!!!

BYe for now

Dear readers,

So far in the book Miley is stuck in middle school with the goths, nerds, the cools, and the bullies. To her excitement she tries out for the part of Hannah Montana. That means skipping her cheer leading competions and practice. She keeps getting called back to L.A for more auditions and her mom just doesn't want to keep doing that, but her dad wants her to keep going because he thinks they've gone to far to quit.

The most important character is Miley because she is the main character.

The Bad Beggining

Dear Readers,

I am still reading the book: A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning. As I told you before that Count Oalf is a mean person and he lets the Baudelaire orphans do all chores and other things that children must not do. So right now in the story, the Baudelaire orphans went to see Mr. Poe because they don't want to stay in the Count's house so they went to where Mr. Poe works and told him everything bad that happened to them by The Count. Mr. Poe tells them that they need to adjust themselves by the house. When the Baudelaires heard that they went back home. But before they went home they visited Justice Strauss to get some books from her library. The Orphans went home and then read their book that they got. The next morning they woke up, rather than a note ( that tells them what chores to do) from Count Oalf they found Count Oalf himself !!! He was in the kitchen cooking oatmeal for them!!!!! " Good morning orphans" he said. " I've cooked oatmeal for you. I got a phone call yesterday from Mr. Poe that you guys went to his office and told him that I was not a good father!!!!!!
One of the main characters in the story is Count Oalf and along the story he changed to a evil person to a nice obedient father to the orphans. I wonder why he did that??? I think he might have another plan to ruin the children.....!!!!!

Read my next blog to find out what happens.......

Sincerely,
PT

Midnight Alley (third book out of The MorganVille Vampires)

Claire Danvers knows that her college town is run by vampires. She applied for a transfer and had stocked up on garlic, just in case she needed it, but the transfer is no longer an option, but the garlic may come in handy.

Now in Midnight Alley, Claire has pledged herself to Amelie, she is the most powerful vampire in the town, and the only one who can turn you into a vampire. The protection her contract secures does little to reassure those closest to Claire. But all of a sudden people are turning up dead in MorganVille, and an ancient bloodsucker extends an invitation for private lessons at his house, since Claire is really smart. Claire will soon discover--and it will give a terrifying new meaning to night school.

I am at the part where Claire just got home from a guy named Myrnin's house in the dark alley that everybody says not to go in, because you will not return. Myrnin is a guy who needs someone a little smarter than Claire to teach. You could call Myrnin a sick creepy guy. Shane was about to leave the house, but he didn't. He left because he wanted to help his dad kill vampires with a clean conscience. He ended up staying. Micheal just found out about Claire pledging herself to Amelie, which means Amelie can control Claire as in tell her what to do. Micheal is upset with Claire because she never talked to Micheal, Eve, or Shane about this. Claire decided to pledge herself to Amelie because if she didn't Amelie said something bad will happen to her friends. She must do everything Amelie says now. Amelie makes her go to night school, and the vampire teacher is crazy. He had to be locked up in a cage. People keep turning up dead either in the Glass House or in the backyard garbage cans.
I think that Monica has something to do with it.
A question of mine is Why does Monica want to hang out with Claire and be best friends with her even if she has tried to kill Claire?

Hope You enjoyed!
